News ECI: Cloud at the national innovation award
The National Award for Innovation (“Premio dei Premi”) is an initiative of the Italian Government that has provided for the National Innovation Day and is established by concession of the President of the Italian Republic, at the National Foundation for Technological Innovation COTEC.
The objective of the Award is to enhance and support the best innovative and creative skills of companies, universities, public administrations, institutions or individual creators, also in order to foster the growth of the culture of innovation in the country.
This year, 38 innovation experiences were awarded to the winners of national competitions organized in the sectors of industry, design, university and public research, public administration and services: in several of these experiences, Cloud Computing has been an important if not fundamental driver. In fact, many of the awardees have made use of IaaS and SaaS services for the development and management of their projects.
It is also with great pleasure that we can be honored by the presence of one of the founding members of EuroCloud Italia among the awardees by President Giorgio Napolitano: the aKite® www.akite.net SaaS is an innovative way of bringing IT into the Retail world by reducing complexity and TCO and is in turn provided thanks to a PaaS service.
